wakemate to begin shipping in march

Sorry for the radio silence – we have some good news: the first run of units will go out in March! We do not know how large the run will be right now, but it will not fulfill all of the pre-orders. We'll let you know if you're in the first batch as soon as we can. Thanks for your continued patience and interest in WakeMate; we can't wait to show you what we've made!

i hope mine is in the first batch. i've been playing with the iphone app 'sleep cycle' and whilst the idea is good, having to put my phone on/under my pillow is annoying. i look forward to using wakemate.

Leaving your iPhone on the whole night doesn't seem like a good idea anyway. I'm curious to see how Wakemate interacts with the iPhone, especially since daemon apps isn't allowed (yet).

sleep cycle does dim the screen overnight, so it's probably not a great deal of difference to having it on as my alarm clock (which is what i do normally). however i agree, i don't really like having a radio device sitting inches from my head all night!

I put my alarm clock inside a cage on my dresser, because unless I have to perform the complicated differential equations required to open the lock, I tend to sleepwalk. Anyway, this means the sinister radio transmitter is across the room from my precious and irreplaceable brain pan.

Someday I'll probably also wire it to make it into a Faraday cage, just for added safety.
